Virtualizing Operating Systems - Last 2 Weeks of BIG SALE on P2V Procedures
- OpenServer 5.0.7 P2V.
- OpenServer 6.0.0 P2V.
- 33% Discount through the end of 2015.
We are now in the last 2 weeks of our end-of-year sale on the P2V procedures for OpenServer 5.0.7 and OpenServer 6.0.0. On January 1, 2016 they'll revert back to regular price.
Microlite is a world leader in virtualization knowledge for these operating systems. Our procedures are fast, proven and effective. They do not require investment in a "V" license, or a "Definitive" license from SCO / Xinuos.
These two operating systems run fine under the VMware ESXi operating environment, with the exception of not having open-vm-tools. Our procedures cover every part of a P2V conversion from host bus adapter to video and mouse configuration.
The P2V procedures for OpenServer 5.0.7 and OpenServer 6.0.0 sell for $1,500. However, from now through December 31, 2015 we are offering them for only $1,000†.
† Procedures also require a BackupEDGElicense under a long term Support and Maintenance Subscription.
As many end-users may no longer have a relationship with their original value-added reseller, we can refer you to a qualified reseller, or we will come on-site and perform the conversion at special rates which are cheaper than our normal consulting rates. Please call our sales department for details.
The Virtualization Section of the Microlite Web Site is located HERE.
Linux P2V conversion is built into BackupEDGE for Linux beginning with the release versions described on our web site. There is no charge to use P2V with appropriate licensed releases.
BackupEDGE 03.01.03 Build 2 with CIFS Backups
We're pleased to announce that we've added CIFS Backups and disaster recovery to our Linux products beginning with 03.01.03 build 2. Support is currently confirmed for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x and 7.x families (including CentOS, Oracle Linux Server, and Scientific Linux) as well as Ubuntu 15.10. We're working on other certifications. Please let us know if you need this for a different operating system release.
CIFS Backups will work from any Linux Server supporting a mount command like the following:
mount -t cifs -o username=USER,password=PASSWORD //server/directory /mountdir
However, RecoverEDGE bare metal recovery is only supported on the operating system releases we've listed above. See the User Guide Section 10 (CIFS Backups) for additional information.
We've also improved SharpDrive™ booting under Linux in this release, as well as updating it to include latest security and communications fixes.
