Operating System Updates / Upgrades - IMPORTANT
When you update or upgrade an operating system to a new numbered release, it is critical that you check our
Linux Support Tables and
Unix Support Tables to make sure your current release of
BackupEDGE /
RecoverEDGE supports the new operating system release. Occasionally vendors make serous changes in point releases that can break our products. The recent Red Hat and Ubuntu updates are great examples. Both made internal changes that required us to add something new to
RecoverEDGE. Always,
always check our support tables when a new operating system update is released.
YouTube Channel + New Training Videos
We have prepared a new series of three training videos on using Amazon S3 S3CLOUD Resources with BackupEDGE. These have been posted, along with our older training videos, on our YouTube Channel.
The three new videos are...
- Lesson 1 - Terminology Primer. (5:26)
- Lesson 2 - Creating Buckets & Authenticating in EDGEMENU. (8:19)
- Lesson 3 - Using Custom Policies with BackupEDGE to control access to Amazon S3 Buckets. (9:16)
We welcome your suggestions for new training videos that might help you to better use and understand BackupEDGE. Please send an email to sales@microlite.com with your suggestions.
Physical to Virtual (P2V) Conversion Services
We've updated our P2V process for SCO / Xinuos operating systems, based on feedback and experience from the many that we've completed. You may now work with your Authorized BackupEDGE Reseller to schedule conversions. For your convenience, we can schedule conversions non-business hours for a small additional fee (subject to technician availability). You'll find updated information here...
Linux Distributions based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (including CentOS, Oracle Linux Server and Scientific Linux) can be easily virtualized using the tools built into the latest releases of BackupEDGE. CLICK HERE for additional Linux P2V support information and requirements.
