Problem Description
|
Before or after a backup / verify / restore operation, I get an error code 54.
I also see a message that says:
Script Error [Exit code: 1]
Command was: "/usr/lib/edge/bin/edge.bscript -begin system backup 0"
Reason is Script Failed
|
Cause
|
Error 54 means "startup script failed". Some script, such as edge.start, edge.passed, or edge.failed exited with a non-zero status.
However, if you haven't modified any scripts to the best of your knowledge; then it can also be a result of the file /usr/lib/edge/bin/edge.vms not being present.
|
Solution
|
The summary will tell you which script failed. By default, the backup scripts do nothing but exit successfully. If yours fails, it is likely it has been modified. Consult the script to see why.
Once again, though if you haven't made any changes check for the existence of edge.vms in /usr/lib/edge/bin.
If it does not exist, copy it into /usr/lib/edge/bin from /usr/lib/edge/tmp.
Then try a scheduled job.
