Problem Description
|
While making RecoverEDGE media for my new system and I see the following messages:
Your root ('/') cannot be remade during recovery. Either it has been incorrectly detected by RecoverEDGE, or it is not a supported filesystem type.
The reason for this is: Filesystem is not attached to real disk or partition.
You must correct this problem before you can make recovery media.
Could not run re2
|
Cause
|
Check the output from the command:
df -vk
Look for the sda1 division that may read something like /boot/efi. This would indicate the presence of UEFI Unified Extensible Firmware Interface which is a BIOS setting.
|
Solution
|
Being that UEFI currently isn't supported under RecoverEDGEyour only option would be to reinstall the OS from scratch with UEFI disabled in the BIOS. It is recommended you should install BackupEDGE, then attemp to recreate media.
