- Time-To-Live (retention time) settable per archive. Archives won't be over-written until TTL expires. This makes 2 week, 3 week, and a wide variety of other archive retentions available.
- Disk-to-Anything-to-Anything (D-to-*-to-*) Scheduling. Perform a quick backup to disk, FTP, or other fast Resource, then copy to a slower Resource as time permits.
Major Changes Since 2.x...
- The Scheduler has been replaced by one with far more features, which will be explained in detail. However, the default behavior remains the same; a weekly backup rotation with Monday through Friday enabled.
- All CD and DVD Resource Names have been changed to "optical" and combined with Blu-ray Disc support.
- The Web Services Interface has been improved. It is no longer necessary to copy files to the desktop system. Simply browse to "https://hostname:3946" and the user interface will download. Web Services still needs to be enabled manually.
- There are no more "Slotnames" used in AWS, FTP and FSP backups. Archive rotation is now controlled by Time-To-Live.
- EDGEMENU has been reorganized. Infrequently used setup menus are now consolidated in the Setup -> Configure BackupEDGE sub-menu.
